Name: Seta Souji Door: Left. Canon: Persona 4 Canon Point: The end of the Persona 4 manga. Age: 17 Appearance: Here. History: https://megamitensei.fandom.com/wiki/Yu_Narukami#Profile Personality: Like many RPG Protagonists, Souji’s precise personality can vary by playthrough. However, there are certain parts of his portrayal that are relatively constant, and I’m going to focus on those. POSITIVES: +Cool Under Pressure Souji is very in control of his emotions, making rational decisions under the toughest of circumstances. Even when shocked, under time pressure, in a new environment, Souji is rapidly adaptable, decisive, and able to push his own impulses back to see what needs to be done - the traits that make him the leader of the Investigation Team in Persona 4. -Distant & Analytical; Deadpan A corollary to the above - Souji can come off as cool or even completely blank of emotion. While he’s capable of being warm and expressive, his long-time default of sitting back and people-watching means he can come off as a cipher, apathetic or downright heartless, dropping only the smallest cues to his current emotional state. Souji is good at listening, but bad at explaining - this distance isn’t a deliberate poker face or intentional restraint; it’s just the way he is. +/-Bizarre Humor Souji’s quirky, offbeat sense of humor is very dry, and it’s almost impossible to tell when he’s joking, especially given that he’s bad at explaining himself and even the most outlandish statement can as easily be a dead-serious explanation as deadpan humor. While Souji can’t always help the way he comes across, he definitely takes deliberate advantage of people’s inability to read him in order to play jokes. +Principled Souji has a very strong commitment to Truth & Justice, and absolutely will not engage in anything he considers to be wrong. This stubbornness gets him into trouble as often as it helps him out, especially given how difficult it is for others to read his motives and how bad he is at explaining himself. -Objective Souji will not cut you slack because he likes you. He will not tell white lies to spare your feelings. While he’s kind and friendly, once you cross a line he can be completely uncompromising and ignore social niceties. +/-Honest To a Fault Souji doesn’t lie. Ever. When faced with an unbelievable situation, he may look for a way to state the truth that people are able to accept - but he won’t resort to falsehoods to protect himself under any circumstances. The Truth comes first, always. +Compassionate & Empathetic Souji loves almost everyone, with no expectation of return. He watches people because everyone he’s ever met fascinates him; and everyone who fascinates him, he sympathizes with, wants to learn more about, wants to help. Until recently Souji didn’t see himself as having his own place or role in the world, and existed only to enable others. Being the perpetual new kid, he never expected anyone to get close to him or care about him in return, and even the slightest overture of friendship means the world to him. -Tolerant Why is this a negative? Because if you don’t want to change, Souji won’t try to change you. If you’re not actively hurting others, he’ll never tell you anything is a bad idea or get in your way. He’ll just watch, and follow along, and be really intrigued by what a hot mess you are. Even if you’re someone who crosses a line and he attempts to oppose or stop you, he’ll still like you, still be interested in you. Bad people are just as interesting as good people, to Souji. Powers and Abilities: Beyond being skilled at school and sports, Souji is a Wild Card, meaning he can draw on the strength of his relationships to empower up to twelve separate Personas, summonable spirits with elemental strengths and vulnerabilities who do battle for him. Souji may only have one Persona equipped at a time. Souji’s Personas at endgame are as follows: Helel (Star Arcana) - Blocks Fire/Light/Dark, Resists Physical, Weak to Wind, does Fire , Physical, & Almighty Damage. Mara (Tower Arcana) - Absorbs Fire & Physical, Reflects Dark, Resists Wind, Weak to Light; does Fire & Poison damage, boosts physical attacks, & can reflect magical/elemental attacks. Yoshitsune (Tower Arcana) - reflects Electric & Light attacks, Blocks Physical, resists Fire. Does electrical damage & massive physical attacks. Odin (Emperor Arcana) - Absorbs Wind, Blocks Electric, Weak to Fire, does electric & wind damage. Izanagi-no-Okami (World Arcana) - Resists Physical, Fire, Ice, Electric, & Wind; raises evasion, heals after combat is done, empowers magical attacks, and does Almighty Damage. Scathach (Priestess Arcana) - Resists Ice, Blocks Wind, weak to Fire, Does Ice & Wind damage and cures ailments. Asura (Sun Arcana) - Blocks Fire & Light, Resists Ice, Weak to Wind, does Fire & Physical Damage. Sandalphon (Moon Arcana) - Blocks Wind, Reflects Light, Weak to Dark, does light & physical damage, cures ailments, revives downed party members. Loki (Fool Arcana) - Absorbs Ice, Blocks Dark, Weak to Fire; does ice damage, raises defense, protects against crits, & counters some physical attacks. Ishtar (Lovers Arcana) - Blocks Electrivity, Weak to Wind, heals party, revives downed party members, removes Silence effects, & does electricity damage. Futsunushi (Chariot Arcana) - Blocks Physical, Weak to Dark, does Physical damage & immune to dizziness. Alice (Death Arcana) - reflects Dark, weak to Light, does Darkness & Almighty attacks, nullifies stat penalties, charges up magical attacks.
